207 KVK 25 Update Coming

There IS a blog post … I promise!  It is all typed up and ready to go; however the videos aren’t quite ready yet.  I have published one video and you can go take a peek; however the story behind this will only be available on my blog.

Stay tuned for more!!

KVK Planning + FAQ

Okay, so this week I was up an hour early for KVK. A bit grumpy on four hours of sleep but up and awake. I’ll admit I’m annoyed at KVK planning. So I kinda half-assed this one. Sorry. Hindsight I spent so much time in mail explaining stuff for the umpteenth time that I regret not detailing every little thing.

These are the FAQ in Mail, Alliance Chat, and Discord maybe a few by me lol
Who am I reining? Where do I port? What troops am I sending? Do I need to bubble? Should I buff? Why are you sending my reins back? Hello, is anyone going to get that tower? Should I take this hit or bubble? What do you mean by minimal troops?

So I like to prepare mails to people in certain roles so they know. Down to troops to send based on the tiers they have. Shore to port to (invading) and Tower to hold (anywhere). It is highly organized and usually VERY smooth.

So what does planning involve? I’m not sure what other kingdoms do but I visit every alliance that helps with KVK to Mail All. Usually a general plan and call for troops to defend home and invade. I also ask for peoples availability.

I get a lot of responses. Sometimes more sometimes less. I spreadsheet them and assign a role (throne, tower, reins) and assign a kingdom. I base assignments off when people are available. Certain roles have stat requirements such as being unbubbled in another kingdom.

Others have no stat requirements such as stacking a mega throne. For reins I like people with stats to boost defenses on those strongholds and this role favors people who are available only initially or when we invade.

It works well.  Then you have the handful of people that just *show up* with no courtesy head’s-up.  That gives me more stress than anything.  Like, why couldn’t you just say – I may come or I’m thinking about it.  So there is pressure to put these people in a role or fear they’ll be bored and never come again.

All in all we do well.  We have fun.  Discord makes the world go round.

I’ve taken a bit if video from the highlights of our current KVK.  It’ll take a while to create a highlight video

About 207

You have to understand that 207 is like a family.  We’ve had our ups and downs.  War and plunder.  But we’ve had really good times too.  So much history that I never documented.  It is like one of those series that never ends.  Full of drama and action.  Friendship and hatred.  It has all died down now, for the most part.

We’ve had our fair share of wars.  Wars over dominating and keeping the throne.  Wars over rulebreakers.  We’ve also had a lot of peace.  Goal is to maintain peace so that those who want to do KVK don’t have to worry about KE and those who want to do KE can do just that and those that want to be farmers can just be farmers.

KoA it is NOT a war game.  It is called King of Avalon NOT Avalon Wars.  It is a kingdom and as such we are like houses and there is a ruling house and houses that support the ruling house and others that don’t.  Even if you don’t agree with this statement you have to agree that in War you have warriors, farmers, blacksmiths, cooks, etc.  so by default no matter how you look at it this is not a war game.  It is a game that has war.

You also have to agree that not everyone plays games the same way – I mean it is a game.  It is about entertainment value.  As such you cannot force your way of playing on others – just as you wouldn’t want them to force it upon you.

In 207, slaughtering innocents for KE points is done.  That is mutually agreed upon.  We are not against KE – we are against a 30 going after a 21 and zeroing them because that person happens to have a real life and omg their kid is sick and so they forgot to get on and bubble.  So the time they put into the game the past year is gone – I don’t care what you think about free players but know they exist and have just as much of a right to play the game as you.

So we have BAR – Blood and Rage.  #1 alliance and ruling alliance.  However I don’t live at BAR anymore and neither does the king.  We live at KVK – Kingdom 207 but are still very much BAR.  Once upon a time everyone would join BAR for the throne event and we had to drop people every two weeks to make room  It was getting out of hand.  So we converted a farm alliance to be the new BAR – set it all up overnight undercover to prevent people from porting.  Then asked everyone to drop from old BAR to new BAR and port.  Old BAR is now KVK.  Plenty of room for people to join!

So for BAR leadership we have slaktarn, Callum, Gamealotimus, Necro Angel, Dew Hefner, and myself Purls.  We have two allies that we bounce ideas off of – DMW and LOR.  As a collective group we manage the kingdom as a team.   We each have different skill sets and as such our roles are based upon that.  Everyone has a part to play.

We also have WoA, SKy, and ImB that provide a lot of help. There are others that come and go and we don’t force participation but those that do and make a point to go above and beyond get rewarded. Especially if we take all three Thrones; that just means extra chests to distribute.

Titles are distributed to those who ask. My default is Spirituality. I love it. It’s never asked for by anyone else so I get to keep it for 2 weeks after KVK. It comes in handy for troops and the March speed goes well with my Relic.

Overall 207 is a great Kingdom and I’m very happy that it was where I landed when I first started just over a year ago. I’ve met a lot of great people and we have a lot of fun playing the game together.

Game + Scrubalotimus

Gamealotimus is an r4 of BAR.  He stayed in KVK after the last event and asked GH – Dew Hefner – to hold his portal spot at BAR with a farm as he would remain in KVK a few weeks.  We’ve all been friends for a long time via the game and if you cannot have fun then what is the point?

So this is the farm that was created and dropped in by the portal just for Game.  Scrubalotimus.  Because we call Game that all the time – cause he’s a scrub (lol).

King of Avalon_2018-03-25-21-06-08.png

Yes, as you can see in the above Game commented he was being rallied up.  By Scrub.  Here is Game, minding his own business running solo barbs.  It was my suggestion actually – I told Dew to start a rally at Game and have everyone add one cav to it for fun.

Oh yeah…

I sent the best troop I could to reinforce Game.  My mauler.  He has yet to be named…

Full video of the action is below – well most of it.

So Game survived, barely. It was touch and go there for a minute. But the fun wasn’t over! May not seem like much to you but it’s part of what I love about 207. We make fun happen. In our own ways.

Spreadsheet Update!

My spreadsheet has been *slightly* updated.  As in I removed the Research and Pack tabs – they had a purpose long ago but I long since abandoned that project.  They were useless unless you wanted to reference data before Combat 2 and packs were updated.

What I did do is finally put the math that has been swimming around in my head since Thanksgiving down in formulas.  Meaning the # of troops to send is based directly on the damage it does.

Does it work?  I’d like to think so .. I’ve always done very well on Golem with my math.  In fact I may have done even better than I thought just “winging” it.  The percentages that my math determined are not very far from the defaults with the exception of infantry and siege.  I also left the top percentage on which troops to send by “tier” as-is.  It has always served me well…

Yes, I’m finally going to revisit siege for golem.  I really hope this new update will be as we hope and have no health and last the full 24 hours.  I’d like to maximize my xp and not have to pull over on the drive home to ensure I can get in the game and port before he is dead.

You won’t find a link in this post – go to the navigation menu and click My ♡ Spreadsheet!!

Anyways.  Goal is to do maximum damage on golem.  I’m going to compare my math to someone else’s and see who is going down the right path.  I don’t know how they came up with their totals so we shall see.

If you use my new formulas for golem let me know how it compares to my last setup…

Firelands + Spire

I went to Firelands with a group – because one of them wanted to test her stronghold against me.  Suffice to say she is perfectly fine.  She’s worked hard on layers and defenses.  Great player – silently absorbing all the advise others ask for.  Great news is her hospitals can hold all the wounded I gave her so in terms of KVK against someone with my stats she would have zero losses.   @Siren – good job!

Sadly I was distracted with things and I shot no videos of this.  I have the reports but as this is a public site I’m not interested in sharing.  I don’t hide my stats from 207 just those in other kingdoms for KVK purposes.  No advantages!

I’ve done the whole I want to rank thing previously in Firelands and so I’m not interested in soloing that again – with a team for sure.  The last time I attempted to rank I was top 50 – top 20 most of the time – until this guy started hassling me.  Of course then revenge-3 showed up and knocked that guy out.  And knocked me out.  Rampage. No worries.

This Firelands I was more interested in getting all the rewards to add to my banner collection.  So boring.  Shoutout to @Ragnarr – found you!  If I wasn’t porting around scaring friends to death I was scrolling around looking for them.

King of Avalon_2018-03-24-12-48-06.png

Also found a friend from our last KVK matchup – k199.  I ported next to her and sent a one cav march because I couldn’t say hello any other way!  I put a scare into them obviously as they instant recalled.  I had to jump on my k199 account and message them so they didn’t have to worry about me.  I sat next to them for a while cause I was more into the discussion in Discord than anything else.

King of Avalon_2018-03-24-12-07-03.png

The only real attack I did do was at the very end.  There was no time for me to grab fresh tiles before the timer ended and #Bored.  Which reminds me, I really need to fix my pvp formation.  I’ve been 31 over a week and I have yet to adjust my formation for the additional troop capacity.  #Noob

That is okay – I managed to rank decently considering I ported around poking at friends and only gathered the last half to ensure I had enough fossils to get all the tier rewards.  So in all the rank I acquired was surprising and made me wish I’d attempted to rank.

The thing is – you have to port fast to the 3 tiles and snag them quickly at the opening of the event.  As I was there to attack friends upon request for defense purposes this opportunity was lost and tbh I’m not sad.

King of Avalon_2018-03-24-13-01-25.png

I hate the spire.  Love the rewards, hate it otherwise.  I’m always forgetting to go back in and end up wasting so much time.  Lately I’ve been on the prowl for certain people and having a blast attacking my 207 peeps.  By attacking I mean I send a single cav march and review their stats.  Why not? 😀

Peace + Tent Wars

Forgive me. It has been a busy week. Might have something to do with being on vacation holiday last week. Perhaps. Likely. So this will be long. Don’t complain. I gave you three days off.

So this week was eventful in game; however I’m not gossip nor am I interested in putting people’s business out there. So any screenshots I share of 207 will have names and pictures cropped out. Unless I have permission. Or it is publically obtainable data – such as profiles and leaderboards.

It is no secret that I have been working towards Kingdom Peace for months now. I stopped participating in Kill Event on December 2, 2017. That is the day we started a war with TRW. No need to get in the details, too bad I wasn’t blogging back then. Old history and no real reason to rehash it.

Anyways before that date I wasn’t an aggressor but a protector. When I accepted KVK tags it was a big deal. I don’t remember the exact date and I’ve long since purged the mail I saved to mark the occasion. Even though that was months ago it is still a big deal to be accepted as a core member. You pretty much have to prove yourself as a KVK player by being there and participating.

King of Avalon_2018-03-23-23-14-47.png

Our board is pretty simple. KVK tags do not participate in KE. We are neutral in that and if our tags are attacked we will strike with a vengeance whenever is most convenient – and least expected. Most of us have stats, if not we’re actively acquiring them. We also live for KVK and that is our sole focus. As such killing our kingdom is counterproductive. It takes a team to conquer other thrones and if you kill all the kingdom troops you’re lucky to keep your own.

It was so much senseless slaughter. I stopped wanting to kill. People had been quitting left and right for months. Players that had built up power slowly since the kingdom opened – gone in an instant. Not players that had the means or knowledge to speed it back. We lost a lot of good people who had a real life and forgot to refresh a bubble.

The aggressors were having a ball. GH was an offender. To this day I’ll never understand a person attacking a stronghold half their size with a quarter of the stats – over and over and over again. For kills. For leaderboards. What happened to honor and fair fights?

So I started planting seeds. It wasn’t just my idea and I won’t take credit for that; however as most INFJ’s I am very persistent and passionate about causes I take to heart and as such this was something I fought for. The resistance was less. You just have to find the right words to use when discussing it so that people understand.

I also pushed KVK. Heavy. This is when I started my KVK Tour. Visiting allies to recruit for the upcoming event. Then more than allies – other alliances that wanted to participate. These days I join more every event and I don’t even need to mail an r4. I just apply to every alliance I haven’t visited yet and wait for one to take me in. Since they are all contacts anyways I have a guess on who is on or not.

The contacts are because I started a Kingdom Mailing List. The r5/4 of alliances that help in KVK. At the moment I have 41 contacts; however 9 are in other kingdoms. It’s easier to send mail by tapping down my contact list than down the leaderboard list. I share news on the upcoming event and these days just general kingdom news.

We had 55 people join us for our last KVK. And they had fun. Previously KVKs saw a lot of people join; however it has only been the last few that we’ve pushed for everyone interested. Any stats and any troops – that is what I put in my Mail All when I join each alliance. We just want people who want to participate.

I’ll find a role for them. Even if all they have are t1. You never know. It was not like this previously. I was also not in charge of the entire event prior to starting my tours.

Unintentionally we’d always recruited t8 and up. This left out a lot of people. We also relied on the r5s to communicate who was coming and what troops. I decided one point person was necessary and the Purls KVK Tour was born.

Dropping tags every two weeks sucks. I miss out on a lot, such as Portal and Fallen Knights. I do use that time to clean my farms since they are also tagged for KVK. I also have a blast in KC with my various tags of the moment. I post there intentionally to show – it isn’t the tags you wear but the person behind them. It isn’t a drag to drop anymore. I look forward to it. I get to visit all my friends.

And those seeds that I’ve been planting for months? They are blooming. And spreading seeds of their own. We’ve napped KE before – by continuing the Kingdom NAP that is in effect otherwise. The first was as a Holiday NAP – so people could spend time with their families. This wasn’t kingdom-wide and the message was that BAR and BAR Allies would not attack for KE – or be attacked because we can do that.

However this week marks the second KE in a row we’ve enforced a Kingdom NAP for. The first instance was KVK related. The second, well it has been request by many. I guess people do like to farm and grow. We’re all friends and we want to continue being friends. How you can not after a year together is beyond me.

We’re over 24 hours in on this second one and zero incidents. There were a few minor mishaps on the last one – mains on farms that weren’t notified and another who just doesn’t pay attention. There have been complaints; however this time it isn’t just me pushing peace. It is others I’ve converted to the cause. Not because we don’t want to kill but we don’t see the purpose of slaughtering our own kingdom.

In fact kingdom leadership has been informed of future KE options to discuss among their people. Just ideas to have fun, get the gold, and not murder innocents. Honestly after this KE I don’t know that we’ll need two of them. The tent wars seems to work just fine.

Tent Wars. This happens in KC. Someone lays out a tent and posts coords. They advise of the # of troops inside and the # of troops others should send.

And that is how we roll. Since it is the first time 207 has done this the response has been well received. A few grumbles here and there; mostly from people who have no business going out and attacking tbh. The same people who whine when they get reined against or attacked. To each their own. I’m just trying to lead by example and hope it catches on!

The other two ideas were; however they have more admin requirements than simple tent wars.  I’d prefer we NOT; however if it is required for the kingdom to succeed I will happily take on the burden.  I’ll have help.  We have a great leadership team.

  1. Each alliance polls itself internally and majority vote determines if they are a KE or KVK alliance. If you are in a KVK alliance you cannot participate in KE with their tags. You must drop and join a KE alliance and remain all three days. Only KE alliances can participate and attack each only only.
  2. Create/repurpose two alliances and they are used for KE only. Those who wish to participate in KE would mail their intent and all participates would be mailed an alliance assignment – via random number generation. So who ends up in these two alliances is based on chance. So what if you’re against allies – you don’t have to hit them. This also means farms are off-limits and only the people who want to participate in KE do.

Time will tell!

Golem + Dragon Spirit

It is no secret I like Golem. I fully buff with blade. Full war gear and Lord. Dragon reset for monster.

That would be the king in first, GH in second, and myself in third. The xp is worth the expense in gold. I used to spend 11,400 gold every Friday for Golem. I’d reset Lord and Dragon for Golem and set them back to what they were previously.

The mines have changed this. I get Lord and Dragon resets easy. Cause why stay in war on Lord if there is no war. Just for KVK. That cost includes porting unless my relic is on cooldown.

Now I just spend 6,600 or so. Considering I get over 8 million Lord xp this is a very good return on investment. With barbs I can level my Lord every week or two. Closer to two weeks now that more do is required to jump these days.

I have been saving coins from the Dragon Lab for my Dragon Spirit. I was going to use them on refining stones but decided it was time to boost my Dragon Spirit’s level.

Not bad for a few coins. I wasn’t serious on Dragon Spirit until just before the Undead Trader update was released. I was Knight but switched to Mage with the update.

Gold Event Woes + Don’t Break NAP

Today marked Day One in the Gold Event.  Gathering Stage.

Long story short I have not received the gold in this stage in a long time.  This started shortly after our war against TRW which mean full war 24/7 and five marches out in reins 24/7 to protect my peeps.  This lasted about four months.  They recently quit.

So I only started gathering again in the last few weeks on my main.  I mean that is what farms are for, right?  I don’t even own gathering gear … even on farms.  Regardless when Slak popped the gather boost I dropped a 24 hour boost and went to town.

I did well to start, then the silver mine depleted.  I lost almost an hour there.  Plus there is this thing called work and since I was on vacation last week today was a bit busy.  So here I was 100k points from getting the gold.  I’d intended to instant recall and go back out. Push the points.

That was until I saw this guy unbubbled.  I decided to port instead to break gather.  Why not.

King of Avalon_2018-03-19-19-53-10.png

To make another long story short, let us just say he has a hot temper and takes his rage out on innocents.  He was with BAR for a while but then decided to murder Baby BAR because he was accidently tile hit by one of them.  By murder I mean it was bad.  In his defense, which doesn’t count, he was raging because he was accidently hit by TRW the day before – we were not at war with them yet and KVK allies.

He was promised full reparations.  They started trading to farm almost immediately for Karter – as he was called at the time.  Then his tile was hit and so he hit his own allies.  Yes, so the rss he was getting for being hit by another ended up going to the alliance he murdered.  Smart.

Regardless.  He left and went to LOR.  One of our allies.  He has been there since.  A few KVK ago his hive was cleaning out inactives.  #Boot&Burn.  Karter had left his farm untagged.  Someone in LOR hit it in error.  When it was discovered as such the attacker offered reparations in rss.

This did not satisfy Bam Bam aka Karter.  No.  He took his main and hit the other guy’s main flat out.  Hurt him bad.  Then left for KVK the next day like nothing happened.  Until we found out.  He was booted so fast, him and his farm that he snuck in.  The rss from that plundering went the the person he’d killed.  Used racial slurs as justification.  Yes.  I know.  You don’t have to tell me, tell him.

This was about a month ago, he fell off our radar.  Harmless.  Didn’t have any teeth.  Until he popped into KC a few days ago.  Talking smack.  As usual we don’t feed trolls unless we need amusement.  He attracted a follower, this Lost guy.  Then Bam Bam decided to hit KvK tags!  Now if you’ve seen our alliance board you know we are immune from all attacks.  Who’d want to hit some of the biggest players anyway?  It is mostly for KE – we don’t participate so unless you want to die daily outside KE leave us be.

KvK is not our farms in KVK – those are in KVK.  KvK is a group of people who just want to farm.  They don’t want to war or anything like that.  And they farm good.  So we struck a deal – they give us rss and we protect them.  Our tags are usually more than sufficient but in most cases kingdom nap breakers don’t listen to rules.  Their board is fashioned after ours.

King of Avalon_2018-03-19-22-02-02.png

KE or not hits are not allowed.  I promised to leave Karter alone and let KvK deal with him.  But I did request coords in case they were offline and I wasn’t and he dropped bubble.  So when I saw him unbubbled I messaged them immediately; however they were not available.  Was it really worth the 4k gold to port?  Not really.  But it sends  a message.  Don’t. Fuck. With. Us. Period.

Remember how I said I was trying to get gold in the event? I didn’t bother switching my dragon to brutal or buffing. He has no relevant stats against me. I also haven’t completed my new PVP formation since SH 31 – bigger march cap – so I used my PVE formation. Which has limited infantry. I don’t really care about my miniscule losses tbh.  Mostly a disclaimer that Purls attacked like a noob because she didn’t give a fuck.

Oh, and gold for the gathering stage?  Never happened.  However I did manage to rank 80.
